The Culture|Futures spiral of engagement was launched by the gatherings of cultural actors from 27 countries and 5 continents on 7th, 8th and 9th December 2009 in Copenhagen.
- Culture|Futures Launch symposium 7 December Programme final
- Culture|Futures Working seminar 8-9 December final
A Culture|Futures Background paper was provided for these initial discussions and video and audio recordings of the gatherings and of interviews with presenters at these unique gatherings are available.
A note of initial outcomes was prepared immediately and will be developed by further dialogue as Culture|Futures provides a global platform for communication and dialogue between cultural actors. It will encourage cooperation between leading cities on ways to develop comprehensive cultural actions as our world population becomes increasingly more and more urbanized. Culture|Futures will also engender a collaboration between research centres and networks supporting the creation of an evidence base of best practice to support the work of cultural practitioners.
In addition to the support and encouragement of partners and the willing contribution of presenters, the launch of Culture|Futures in Copenhagen in December is made possible by the contribution of many people in the Culture|Futures core team which is expanding as more offer help.
